Dear Alumni and Friends:

The year 2010 is here and I invite you to circle the weekend of April 15-18 on your calendars and note it in your planners. This is the date for this year’s Atlantic Union College Alumni Homecoming weekend—a “red carpet” event for AUC alumni and friends. Annual Alumni Homecoming events provide the perfect opportunity to revisit the campus of Atlantic Union College, relive memories of college days and reconnect with faculty and friends who were instrumental in shaping your life!

For months now our alumni officers and advisors have been planning a memorable weekend just for you. This year’s theme is “Transforming Our Communities” and here are just a few of the highlights you’ll enjoy:

·         Thursday evening’s Alumni Banquet. We are honored to have as our special guest speaker State Representative Harold Naughton, and anticipate announcing an especially “nostalgic” venue for this year’s banquet.

·         A variety of classes, tours and events will be offered on Friday, culminating with the Friday evening Honor Class Supper. Graduating classes to be honored at the 2010 Homecoming Weekend are the classes of 2005, 2000, 1995, 1990, 1985, 1980, 1975, 1970, 1965 and, not to be forgotten, our "50 plus" honorees who graduated in the classes of 1960 and earlier.

·         Angel Rodriguez '85, New York Conference Executive Secretary, will usher in the Sabbath with a challenging Friday evening vesper message.

·         Have you served in the mission field? It will be our privilege to honor you and your service during our Sabbath School.

·         Ernestine Finley '00 will be the 11:00 worship service speaker on Sabbath morning. Her message and the sacred music of the hour will inspire and richly bless you.

·         Another highlight… the 40th Anniversary BCU Reunion Concert on Sabbath evening.

The 2010 AUC Alumni Homecoming Weekend is shaping up to be an incredibly memorable one. Please join us. You are a vital part of the Atlantic Union College family!

Blessings,

Hebe “Abby” Soares
